Sustainability at the Centre

The Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue runs on a climate neutral basis. CO2-emissions are compensated in line with the long lasting commitment of Swiss Re to combat climate change.

Sustainability is one of Swiss Re's core values. Swiss Re strives to achieve ethical, socially and environmentally responsible business practices, minimising the direct impact of operations on the environment and ensuring sustainability in our relationship with our employees. Swiss Re has a number of schemes and projects to encourage greater sustainability, including:

  • Economics of Climate Adaptation, which give decision-makers and their stakeholders the facts to design a cost-effective climate adaptation strategy, combining risk avoidance, loss reduction and risk transfer measures
  • COYou2 Reduce and Gain Programme, the first global corporate initiative to subsidise employees’ investments in various emission-reducing measures

Swiss Re was once again the insurance sector leader in 2010/11 on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI).
