Swiss Re Milizpreis - bono pro wins the 2011 award

16 Mar 2011

The 2011 Swiss Re Milizpreis was awarded to the association bono pro by Walter B. Kielholz, Swiss Re’s Chairman, on 14 March 2011 at the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue.

Dr Marc Laperrouza, founder and president of bono pro, accepted the award on behalf of the organization. The association bono pro was founded in 2006 to provide scholarships for students who would otherwise not be able to continue their higher education. In addition to receiving the stipend, beneficiaries make a moral commitment to pay back the stipend as soon as they are able to do so, thus enabling other students to benefit from bono pro’s support.

Professor Rolf Zinkernagel, Nobel Laureate, gave the keynote address at the ceremony. The title of his talk was "Education Matters", which linked directly to bono pro’s mission.
